it shows of itself
and what it shows
never carelessly
of itself by never
showing—we are
ensnared in the world
we ensnare.

our innate fear and desire
of it. If the cardinal prays
it is to the hawk, not
the sparrow.

As looking discovers colours
not shapes, so hearing
discovers tones as speech
is the relation of some thing
